first impressions

Matt Stenta and myself sailed our brand new 13ft skiff today for the first time which was nice and the boat is surprisingly fast without much rig tuning and setting up.
were still waiting on our new mast to be finished so we borrowed someone else from our club which meant we had a bit of tuning and setting up to do which was annoying but not too bad.
It was sort of a baptism of fire because when we were sailing in we were hit with a solid 20 knots but the boat was fast and only minimal adjustments needed to take it to the next level.
the new main sail on this boat has a few changes to our old one and we seem to be able to power up earlier and get moving faster after the tacks which is good and it flattens off nicely so were not over powered when the wind gets up.
however the sail wasn't without incident as when we were sailing in we crashed into a moored yacht when we lost steerage and then got hit by a monster gust however nothing broke only a scratch or 2 so we are happy with how everything went and are itching to get back out there.
(just need some grip on the gunnel's)
a big thanks to our sponsors and supporters main Rob Stenta at carneeds Tyres and More, Precourt synthetic rigging solutions, CST composites, and zhik sailing gear
